Princess Charlotte Channeled Her Mom Kate Middleton in a Pair of Mini-Me Boots

At just five years old, Princess Charlotte has officially developed her own sense of style, and she's taking her sartorial cues from mom, Kate Middleton.

In the Cambridge family's 2020 Christmas card, the young royal wore her coziest winter outfit, sporting dark denim, a holiday-themed sweater with a Peter Pan collar, and pair of knee-high brown leather boots that looked very familiar. Proving that she's following in her mother's fashionable footsteps (quite literally), Charlotte's boots, as it turns out, are the miniature version of Kate's favorite shoes.

For nearly two decades, Kate has worn her Penelope Chilvers riding boots on repeat. She first debuted the Long Tassel boots back in the early '00s while dating Prince William, and has pulled them out of her closet on numerous occasions ever since — including most recently during a visit to the Ark Open Farm in Ireland in February.

Charlotte's replica of Kate's go-to boots were made especially for the princess, and feature the same Spanish leather and Goodyear welt rubber on the soles. However, unlike Kate's original design, the kid-friendly pair — which will soon be available to other royal and non-royal kids alike for $375 — is fully lined in a plush fleece fabric.

This week, a source close to Middleton described the duchess's at-home style, which is much more relatable than one would imagine.

“There are no blow-dries — it’s always hair up in a ponytail,” the insider explained during an interview with People. “She’s either in her gym clothes, or a dress and sneakers, very little makeup, apologizing as she’s late for the school run before dashing off. It’s the life of a working mom with three young children — just a different sort of day job to most.”
