Comedian Peter Kay has been spotted for the first time this year as he prepares to make an eagerly awaited comeback.
The Car Share creator was seen at a garage in Preston, Lancashire.Donning a pair of dark-wash blue jeans, a grey jacket and trainers, the comic bent down to pump up the tyres of his Mercedes.
Peter kept the chill off with a black hat before quenching his thirst with a bottle of water from the petrol station.
The star seems to have returned home after reportedly retreating to rural Ireland in the wake of his £40million tour cancellation.
The comedian, who holds the Guinness World Records as the most successful stand-up comic of all time, had reportedly been living in Co Tipperary, according to locals in the area during his hiatus from stage and screen.
Last month, Peter delighted fans by announcing he was making a return to the stage.
The 46-year-old star will host Dance For Life shows in London, Liverpool and Manchester, for Cancer Research UK this April.
Sightings of Peter have been rare since he announced the cancellation of his tour in December 2017.
The three-hour charity shows will see venues turned into massive club nights as crowds take part in sponsored 'dance-a-thons' to raise money for the charity.
The shows, which will see Peter act as DJ, will also feature actress Sian Gibson, who starred in Car Share alongside the beloved stand-up.
The shows have previously played 14 UK arenas since 2016, and have since sold over 75,000 tickets whilst raising money for Cancer Research UK.
Gushing over his return, Peter told Bolton News: "I’ve honestly never had so much fun as I had working on Dance for Life.
"The atmosphere was so happy and positive, it really is a great way to raise money for the worthiest of causes. All people have to do is turn up and dance.
“I’d also like to encourage people to get themselves sponsored via JustGiving.com where a special Dance For Life team page has been set up.”
Before the latest snaps he only been seen in public one since April 2019, with his previous appearance coming at a special screening of Car Share in Blackpool a year earlier.
He was spotted attending Nativity! The Musical in London to watch the show’s final performance in December before going off grid again until the February comeback announcement.
Before that, the comedian broke his Twitter silence to slam a Channel 5 documentary about him.
