Paul McCartney has earned his third No. 1 on Billboard‘s Top Rock Albums chart as a solo artist, with his new album McCartney III debuting atop the chart dated January 2.
McCartney III earned 107,000 equivalent album units in the week ended December 24, according to Nielsen Music/MRC Data. The total included 104,000 units via album sales.
As a solo artist, McCartney previously ruled the Top Rock Albums chart with Memory Almost Full in June of 2007 and Egypt Station in September of 2018.
Billboard noted The Beatles have topped the chart four times since its inception in 2006.
The new album also debuted at No. 2 on the all-genre Billboard 200 and at No. 1 on Billboard‘s Top Album Sales Chart.
