Oasis‘ Liam and Noel Gallagher are producing a documentary about their famous 1996 Knebworth concert.
Jake Scott is set to direct the upcoming documentary about the band’s legendary concerts. Oasis performed to 250,000 fans across two days in August 1996 at Knebworth Park in Hertfordshire.
The film will be produced by Ridley Scott‘s RSA Films, while Liam and Noel will serve as executive producers.
The documentary will be released this year to mark the 25th anniversary of the concert. Sony Music Entertainment is financing and distributing the film, while Trafalgar Releasing will handle the theatrical run later this year.
Speaking about the project, Scott said, “It’s a story driven entirely by the music, a rock and roll experience, told in the moment, like a visual stream of consciousness that is built around the extensive archive footage from the event. No on-camera interviews or unnecessary celebrity recollections.”
