After she announced that she'd be part of Super Bowl LV — and offered a peek at all her prep (treadmill included) — Miley Cyrus stole the big show before it even started with a fiery pregame performance at the NFL TikTok Tailgate. In true Miley style, her looks (yes, plural) were a lot.
She first took the stage wearing a glam-rock version of the traditional cheerleading uniform, complete with rhinestone studs and a black leather and pink pleated mini skirt. In varsity letters, "FTW" was emblazoned across the chest of her crop top, and for the final finishing touches, Miley put on a pair of sparkly knee pads and heeled black boots.
Halfway into her set, Miley changed into a second outfit. As she welcomed rock icon Joan Jett onto the stage for their song, "Bad Karma, Bad Reputation," Cyrus slipped on a sequined football jersey with shoulder pads and matching pants. She accessorized the decidedly sporty ensemble with a pair of black stilettos.
During the show, Miley shouted out the local hospitals's healthcare workers for their service amid the ongoing coronavirus pandemic. "This is my first show in about a year, and I could not imagine a better way than here in Tampa surrounded by all these healthcare heroes," the songstress said to the vaccinated crowd at Raymond James Stadium. She added, "I hope I can have more like these [concerts]. And that dream will only be a reality because of people like yourselves. Our gratitude toward you is infinite."
Though the Super Bowl tailgate may be the biggest thing on her schedule so far in 2021, Cyrus has been keeping busy while the world has been under lockdown. 2020 introduced everyone to Cyrus's Instagram Live talk show, Bright Minded, encouraged voters to get out and make their voices heard during the election, released new music, and opened up about her sobriety. So, while most of us were figuring out sourdough, Cyrus and her mullet were out there doing the most.
