Kerry Katona has delightedly announced she's bought a new home thirteen years after she went bankrupt and "lost everything".

The former Atomic Kitten singer shared the exciting life update with a smiling Instagram selfie and a lengthy caption to match.

"Well it's official!! After losing EVERYTHING 13 years ago and having to rent I've finally bought me a house!!" the 40-year-old began.

"I want to share this news because many times over the years I literally felt suicidal! BUT I never gave up! If I can turn things around and get back on top ANYONE can."

The mother-of-five proudly went on to give herself "credit" for "not giving up on herself" and also thanked her other half Ryan Mahoney for having "faith" in her.

She added: "Even 6 years ago I never thought I'd be where I am today! It's been bloody hard. Drugs, bankruptcy, bipolar, mental health, anxiety, divorcees breakdowns, car crash TVs WOW, I honestly never thought I'd get through it all!

"But here I am. Tell yourself every day you love yourself, tell yourself every day your worth it and never ever let other people's opinions define you as a person! Learn from it all, move on and help others," Kerry wrote.

"I think it's amazing that Kelly Osbourne has come out and admitted she relapsed after nearly four years of being sober from drugs and alcohol. It isn't an easy road and people do fall off the wagon.

"I think it's really brave of Kelly to talk about it, and I'm sure it will give so many other people hope. I get so many messages on Instagram from people who have fallen off the wagon. My advice would be, don't be so hard on yourself. Every day is a new day."
