Katya Jones: Strictly pro talks ‘true soulmate’ after Neil Jones split ‘You bl**dy rock!’

Strictly Come Dancing professional dancer Katya Jones, 31, has addressed her “true soulmate” after splitting from ex-husband and co-star Neil Jones, 38, last year. The BBC favourite revealed who she is “grateful” for on her 31st birthday.

My true soulmate.

Taking to her Instagram page, Katya got candid on her special day, while she isolates at home.

The Russian dancer wrote to her 163,000 followers: “I’m entering 31st year of my life ( WTF??) with a heart full of gratitude, blessings, full of love, kindnesses and appreciation.

“I’m dancing into it with people who love me, care for me, who tell me ‘you’re gonna be fine’ when I need and ‘get off your a** & get on with it’ when I need too.”(sic)

Katya also spoke about how grateful she is for the people in her life, who inspire her “every day”.

The dancing champion added: “People who inspire me every day, who push me, and who also tell me to seat down, relax and chill.

“But mainly I’m grateful for that one person, who has really proven themselves, whom I love unconditionally, who loves me back for who I am, who makes me most happy, makes me laugh, surprises me, who is my companion at all times, person who has been my rock and has seen me at my worse.”

The star continued: “The one I’m very happy to be alone with…in silence, in isolation, in any situation.

“My true soulmate. ‘ME’. Happy birthday ‘ME’, you bl**dy rock.”

Once the choreographer expressed her thoughts to celebrate her special day, many of Katya’s Strictly family proceeded to wish her a happy birthday.

Former Strictly contestant and Ru Paul star Michelle Visage kindly wrote: “Happy birthday mama,” while fellow pro Janette Manrara, who was impressed with her friend’s message, added: “Yes yes yes! Happy Birthday!!”

This comes after her estranged spouse of 11 years Neil commented simply: “Happy Birthday.”

A fourth also shared: “Happy birthday you beautiful human being.”

It all comes after Katya previously confessed that although she and Neil remain good friends, the dancer opened up about how she hated that chunk of time.

Speaking to Express.co.uk, she discussed: “Turning 30 felt like a big thing.

“As a dancer, your body changes and I wasn’t in a good place and then big stuff was going on at the same time.”

She went on to say: “It was a transition but I already know so much better who I am. I’m still friends with Neil and we still dance together. We take it lightly. We have such a good relationship that we can do that and we still support each other in whatever we do.”

Meanwhile, Neil recently spoke about the training he and the other dancing pros used to do for their intense competitions in Blackpool.

Speaking on his podcast Tall, Blonde and Ginger and co-hosts The Greatest Dancer’s Michael Danilczuk and Ballroom champion Craig Shaw, Neil spoke about how the training involved with running compares to his dancing.

The star divulged: “It’s the same in dancing when you’re competing right? You get to a point where you’ve got to do five rounds, let’s say Blackpool, Neil.

“I was just wanting it to end. When we used to do the round, the training… for everyone at home who has no idea what we’re talking about here…”
