Former This Morning presenter Fern Britton has taken on a new project away from her world of books. The prolific author is currently working on a TV show which has been likened to the Bake Off but with painters instead of bakers.
The 63-year-old took to Twitter and revealed that she is currently filming in Devon, as she accompanied the news with a candid snap.
In view of her 82,000 followers, Fern could be seen beaming for a selfie but added she was “frozen.”
She penned: “Up early filming in Devon. Have a good day,” as the novelist added a frozen emoji.
The presenter didn’t reveal any details about the programme but it is believed to be “like Bake Off for painters” in Plymouth.
Fans were quick to quiz the presenter on the show details, as one social media user questioned: “What’s the programme dear Fern? Miss seeing you.”
Another asked: “Where are you? Looking forward to seeing whatever you are filming.”
While a third added: “Looks fabulous! Happy filming.”
The show will see four amateur watercolour painters going “easel to easel”.
The series is reportedly being filmed throughout April in Plymouth, Cornwall, Yorkshire and Wales and features four amateur watercolour painters in a timed challenge before a winner is chosen by an expert.
According to Plymouth Live, a statement on Facebook read: “The series will also celebrate Britain’s strong watercolour heritage as well as showcasing some of our most stunning locations.”
The same publication also spotted Fern and the television crew filming at Devils Point and the Yard, last week.

The news of Fern’s latest move comes after she announced her split from her estranged husband and This Morning chef Phil.
When quizzed on how he is doing following their recent split, Phil confirmed in a new interview with Entertainment Daily: “[I’m] completely happy. The kids are all good.”
The television stars share daughter Winnie, 17, together, while Fern also has twins Harry and Jack, and daughter Grace, with her ex Clive Jones.
Phil went on to admit he tries to remain positive in spite of any challenges he faces in his personal life.
“Life… You’ve got to be positive and I’m always a positive person,” he added.
At the time of their split, Fern explained that they had both “grown apart” after 20 years of marriage.
The presenter-turned-author revealed that it had taken her a long time to make the decision to separate, but that she now feels “liberated”.
“We had a wonderful time. We were the best of friends. And I miss that friendship,” she told Weekend Magazine. “Here comes a point when the children are substantially off your hands and you look at each other and wonder where you’re going to go from here.”
