Ellie Goulding gave a special wedding gift in the form of song to a NHS nurse and her groom as she surprised them with a performance during their virtual wedding.
The singer, 33, dropped into NHS nurse Hayley Pitman and her new husband Harvey Skelton’s wedding ceremony, which was hosted on Zoom for friends and family to tune in from their own homes.
The couple were due to tie the knot at Manor By The Lake in Cheltenham, but were forced to cancel their nuptials amid the coronavirus lockdown.

But, the couple decided to go ahead with their big day by saying their vows in front of their nearest and dearest in a group video call.
Hayley and Harvey were treated to a huge surprise by For Better For Worse, the company which organised their online ceremony, as they had arranged for Ellie, who took part in a charity lifestream concert over the weekend, to tune in to wish the couple all the best in their marriage in a special way.
And, being as their wedding happened over a video chat, the magical moment was recorded for all to see.
The clip shows the couple being pronounced husband and wife and instructed to kiss, as their friends and family applaud from their own homes.
The woman who married the couple then says: “Thank you for choosing For Better For Worse, as a special thank you from us at For Better For Worse, to sing your first dance song we present Ellie Goulding.”
The couple then look closer at their computer screens in shock and amazement as the How Long Will I Love You singer pops up on their screen before Harvey says: “It’s Ellie Goulding!”

The singer-songwriter, who wed Caspar Jopling last year, then laughs as she sits on a cream sofa while holding her acoustic guitar.
Ellie then says: “So congratulations Harvey and Hayley, you’re both heroes and we all love you,” before she starts her live performance.
Later in the clip, the couple are seen dancing while Ellie sings an acoustic rendition of Love Me Like You Do while playing her guitar.
Speaking about the experience after her online surprise, Hayley said: “Despite not being able to be with our friends and family in person, being thrown a virtual wedding by the For Better For Worse team was such a magical experience, and the appearance by one of our favourite singers Ellie Goulding was just the icing on the cake, I couldn’t believe it!
“The memories of this will certainly keep us both going until we can celebrate properly later on in the year.”
