The Dixie Chicks have earned their second-highest debut on Billboard‘s Country Airplay chart with their most recent single, “Gaslighter.”
“Gaslighter” debuted at No. 36 on the March 14-dated chart with 3 million impressions, which partly reflected hourly plays on iHeartMedia stations on the day after the song’s release last week.
The trio’s 2002 cover of Fleetwood Mac‘s “Landslide” opened at No. 32 on the list in September 2002, and later climbed to the No. 2 in November of the same year. The song “Travelin’ Soldier” became their 14th top 10 and sixth No. 1 in March 2003.
The Dixie Chicks are also gearing up to release their 8th studio album of the same name as the new single. It will be the group’s first new record since the release of Taking the Long Way in 2006.
