Michael Che Is 'Hurt and Angry' After Losing His Grandmother to Coronavirus

Heartbroken. Saturday Night Live star Michael Che is reeling after losing his grandmother to the novel coronavirus amid the global pandemic.

“Last night my grandmother passed away from the coronavirus. I’m doing ok, considering. I’m obviously very hurt and angry that she had to go through all that pain alone,” the 36-year-old comedian wrote in a lengthy Instagram statement on Monday, April 6. “But I’m also happy that she’s not in pain anymore. And I also feel guilty for feeling happy. Basically the whole gamut of complex feelings everybody else has losing someone very close and special. I’m not unique. But it’s still scary.”

The New York native struggled to process the events that led up to his family’s loss and admitted that he felt “frustrated” by the way both news media and politicians have been informing the public about the pandemic.

“I don’t even know if I’ll be lost to this virus. Who f–king knows? I shouldn’t curse. I’m just frustrated, cause there’s so much we still don’t know about it, and I don’t think we are getting the whole truth,” Che added, questioning the true cause for the viral outbreak. “I just refuse to believe I lost my sweet, beautiful grandma, because some n–ga ate a bat one time. I’m sorry.”

The notoriously controversial comedian said he “needed a better story” to be able to fully understand why his grandmother passed away, noting that his somewhat inflammatory statement was a result of his “grieving.” He concluded by reminding his more than 450,000 followers to be considerate of their diets during their social isolation and calling out the fast food industry for their increased sales amid the pandemic.

“Make sure you’re getting your vitamins, and water, and probiotics, and dark leafy greens, and all that other good stuff I never thought twice about until the last couple weeks, so you can boost your immune system and help you fight this awful virus in the unfortunate event you get it,” Che explained.

Before signing off with a peace sign emoji, Che shared his heart with anyone else who might be experiencing the same grief as him and his family. “To anybody that’s lost someone to this virus like I have, I don’t have to tell you how much it hurts. But just know that we will make it through this,” he said. “But then again, maybe we won’t! What do I know? This could be IT.”

Tyler Perry Leaves $21,000 Tip To Restaurant Workers Affected By Coronavirus Shutdown; Has History of Charitable Donations

Tyler Perry is the latest celebrity to step up and contribute to those in need impacted by the coronavirus lockdown. With so many essential businesses currently closed and forcing employees out of work, Perry surprised the staff of one of his favorite restaurants with a huge tip. The gracious act is the latest act of kindness of the television mogul, who has always been dedicated to helping others.

Tyler Perry leave $21,000 tip at Atlanta restaurant

TMZ reported that Perry left a hefty tip at one of his favorite restaurants. According to the outlet, Perry has been visiting an Atlanta restaurant, Houston’s, for takeout over the last few weeks. The restaurant prides itself on meals made daily from scratch. Their menu features “American classics,” such as burgers, salads, and sandwiches.

The tip was for the restaurant’s servers who are out of work due to coronavirus shutdown. The restaurant is only open for takeout, leaving 42 members of the staff unemployed until conditions improve and the ban is lifted. Though federal funds for out-of-work employees are promised, many are expecting serious delays and could use cash now.

How can something so perfect even be real? 😉

A post shared by Houston's Restaurants (@houstonsrestaurants) on

Perry left a $500 tip for each employee currently not working, totaling $21,000.

Tyler Perry has always been generous financially

Perry is known for using his wealth for good deeds. After Hurrican Dorian swept through the Bahamas, Perry sent his personal plane to the island to assist with relief efforts. The plane was stocked with essential supplies, including water, juice, sleeping bags, diapers, various hygiene products.

Perry’s plane made several trips and didn’t stop at donating supplies. TMZ noted that on one of the return trips, seven passengers who needed medical attention were brought back.

Perry is also known to give his staff large bonuses every year. He also has taken his crew on vacations, including a surprise trip from Georgia to Denmark for a Beyoncé concert and private meeting with the singer. The crew were flown to the concert on Perry’s private jet – according to Page Six.

The outlet also reported that Perry once paid a year’s rent for a Georgia mother with a sick teen facing eviction.

Perry donated $1 million to help Houston residents affected by Hurrican Harvey in 2017. He selected recipients of the donations based upon who worked on the frontlines. Joel Osteen’s Lakewood Church received $250,000 from the fund after Perry praised them for opening their megachurch to victims who were unable to flee town ahead of the storm.

Another $1 million donation was given to Bishop T.D. Jakes from Perry toward Jake’s youth center. He also became the largest individual contributing entertainer to the NAACP when he donated $1 million to the organization. The monetary gift was in celebration of the organization’s 100-year anniversary.

He famously donated over $400,000 to two Atlanta Walmart stores to help customers pay off layaway bills during the holiday season in 2018.

According to the Atlanta Journal-Constitution, items placed on layaway at the two stores before a Dec. 6 deadline were included in Perry’s payments. Customers only had to pay one penny to pick up their items.

Ohio Family Offers Drive-Thru Conversations Amid Quarantine Struggles

Can we get fries with that?

As many around the world struggle with loneliness and lack of face-to-face communication while isolating amid the coronavirus pandemic, one Ohio family has launched a new way for locals to get their social fix.

Corrine and Matt Roush, their 8-year-old son, Charlie, and 6-year-old daughter, Louetta, have set up a drive-thru chat that has been operating for the last week.

Locals are invited to drive, walk or cycle up the family’s U-shaped driveway any time between 11 a.m. to 3 p.m., during which the clan will talk to visitors while maintaining social distancing from their living room.

“Several people have told us that it was the highlight of their day and it’s just been so wonderful to be able to talk face-to-face,” Corinne said, according to Tank’s Good News.

The mom added that the idea was born as Charlie struggled with being stuck at home and kept telling her he was “losing his mind.” He and his sister were also getting “too much screen time.”

While video calling has helped, Corinne noted there’s something special about spending time together in person, so they put a sign at the end of their driveway and launched the drive-thru chat, which has already been visited by police officers, teachers and neighbors they had previously never met.

“We’ve got a U-shaped driveway, so it’s perfect!” Corinne said. “Cars, bikes, even walkers can just come up and stop in front of our living room window and we can chat from a safe distance. We’ve had breakfast, coffee, lunch with family and friends, and it’s getting us through this time together.”

“We have a sign just out front of our living room window that says ‘Stop & Beep,’” she added. “It doesn’t matter what room of the house we’re in, when we hear that beep, we come running to that window with huge smiles on our faces. It’s been such a light during what has felt like such a dark time.”

Josh Richards & Bryce Hall’s "Still Softish" Lyrics About Lil Huddy Are Brutal

The TikTok world is like an ongoing reality TV show. While some TikTokers appear to be BFFs and happy couples on social media, drama is usually not far behind. That’s currently the case for Charli D’Amelio, Chase Hudson, Josh Richards, and Bryce Hall. D’Amelio and Hudson are members of the Hype House and total lovebirds, while Hudson and Richards are part of the Sway House collective. Josh Richards and Bryce Hall’s "Still Softish" lyrics about Lil Huddy and Charli D’Amelio are brutal, and signal some serious beef is brewing between the houses.

Richards and Hall’s diss track hinted at trouble in paradise for D’Amelio and Hudson’s fledgling relationship. They’ve only been dating for a few months. In February, Hudson opened up about his relationship with D’Amelio, telling Entertainment Tonight they are "not officially" a couple but are "exclusive."

"I’m taking it as slow as humanly possible before I pop the question [of asking her to be my girlfriend]," he explained. "But we are very exclusive and very into each other."

While Hudson said he and D’Amelio were "not talking to anyone else," the lyrics to "Still Softish" tell a different story. In it, the Sway House members claim Hudson slid into Richards’ girlfriend, TikToker Nessa Barrett’s, DMs. Lil Huddy and D’Amelio did not respond to Elite Daily’s previous request for comment on the lyrics.

"Yo Bryce, this mother f*ckin manz tried to DM my girl… Tried to f*ck her," Richards says incredulously during the intro.

Later, Hall raps: "We ain’t doing this for the bands / We doing this just to tell all your fans / You still be f*cking with girls / Telling people Charli’s your world?"

After the song was released, Richards claimed that he and Hudson have agreed to move on from the situation.

"Nick Austin FT me and told me chase tried to reach out, told the bud we could talk," he tweeted. "He apologized and the diss track was a suppose to be my last voicing on the situation anyways. We arent boys like before but we thought the most mature thing to do was put the history behind us."

But whether they moved on our not, these brutal lyrics live on.

Intro: Josh Richards

Yo Bryce this mother f*ckin manz tried to DM my girl

Tried to f*ck her

Lil f*cking hoodie or some sh*t

F*cking wasted man

He just wanted this smoke, I guess

Verse 1: Josh Richards

Wakanda King

Tryna f*ck with me

Tryna f*ck my girl

Like I couldn’t see

Verse 2: Bryce Hall

Broke b*tch

Broken *ss nose b*tch

Small d*ck

Still kinda softish

Toxic

Act like you poppin

No b*tch

Built like a chopstick

Pre-Chorus: Josh Richards, Bryce Hall

Talk about money you got

You know you ain’t got a lot

You know you had one shot

Charli’s the tik to your tok

Tick-tock tick-tock tick-tock

Time’s running out

18 til you get clocked

Lights out lights out

No tour

Knock your *ss out til the fans want more

Chorus: Josh Richards, Bryce Hall

Ay little b*tch look at where you’re at now

Little soft d*ck ain’t no match for my crown

Still softish

You softish

And if I’m being honest

You’re just a f*cking novice

Verse 3: Bryce Hall

We ain’t doing this for the bands

We doing this just to tell all your fans

You still be f*cking with girls

Telling people Charli’s your world?

No trust me he’s a rose

But this one time he broke his nose

He lost his temper

Didn’t whimper

Just saying he’s a b*tch *ss

Verse 4: Josh Richards

No ladies, hell of a guy

He’s, kind of, one of a kind

Just, let them take some time

To find out all of his lies

Sitting there with my girl on the phone

Telling me she can’t get alone

This dude really think he cold

Tryna f*ck while his girl at home

Roseanne Thinks Coronavirus Is a Ploy to ‘Get Rid of’ Her Generation

Wherever Roseanne Barr goes, controversy follows. The comedian shared a hot take on the coronavirus pandemic while appearing on Norm Macdonald’s new YouTube series.

“You know what it is, Norm? I think they’re just trying to get rid of all my generation,” Barr, 67, speculated on Quarantined With Norm Macdonald on Sunday, April 5. “The boomer ladies that, you know, that inherited their, you know, are widows. They inherited the money, so they got to go wherever the money is and figure out a way to get it from people.”

The Saturday Night Live alum, 60, seemed to agree, responding, “There’s so many boomers that have money and do no work. So if you got them out of society, that would be a good thriller.”

COVID-19 has taken the lives of more than 73,000 people worldwide since December 2019, with cases reported in nearly every country.

Later in Sunday’s episode, Barr ranted to Macdonald that she is working on “the perfect lawsuit” against all of Hollywood that would “f–k over everybody in the f–king world over there.”

The actress has kept a relatively low profile since ABC canceled the Roseanne reboot in May 2018 over her racist tweet calling former Barack Obama aide Valerie Jarrett the child of “muslim brotherhood & planet of the apes.” She later blamed her “stupid tweet” on Ambien and slammed her costars for throwing her “under the bus” amid the scandal.

ABC picked up the Roseanne spinoff The Conners in June 2018 starring John Goodman (Dan), Laurie Metcalf (Jackie), Sara Gilbert (Darlene), Lecy Goranson (Becky) and Michael Fishman (D.J.). The show debuted that October, with Barr’s title character being killed off by an opioid overdose.

Barr tweeted after the premiere that she “AIN’T DEAD, BITCHES,” while her longtime rabbi, Shmuley Boteach, called her character’s demise unnecessarily “grim and morbid.”

Even without its onetime star, The Conners has been a huge success. It is the highest-rated comedy on ABC with an average 7.9 million viewers, per Deadline. The series is expected to be renewed for a third season.

Rihanna Wants Three Or Four Kids With Or Without A Partner

Pop superstar Rihanna plans to have “3 or 4” kids with or without a partner.

Rihanna, who is British Vogue‘s May cover star, opened up about her 10-year plan, which includes becoming a mother.

“I’ll have kids — three or four of ’em,” the singer said. When asked whether she’d be willing to do it as a single mother, she replied “Hell, yeah.”

“I feel like society makes me want to feel like, ‘Oh, you got it wrong … ‘ They diminish you as a mother if there’s not a dad in your kids’ lives,” Rihanna added. “But the only thing that matters is happiness — that’s the only healthy relationship between a parent and a child. That’s the only thing that can raise a child, truly, is love.”

She also discussed her work-life, saying, “We will work and work and work. And then we get to this plateau and we’re like, ‘OK, we’re either going to bed or we could keep working.'”

“And then we’re like, ‘Hey, is it shot o’clock?’ Then everybody takes a shot,” Rihanna added. “Then we’re like, ‘OK, we need to pick it up.’ Everybody does a shot of espresso, then we turn some music on and then we’re like, ‘Keep working.'”
