A MUM has revealed her trick to beating the heatwave – making homemade Slush Puppies in her blender.
The savvy mum says she has four children who love the tasty drink, but she doesn’t fork out to buy the drink everyday due to the cost.
She said on Facebook: “Instead of buying 4 every day I decided to make them at home with a bag of ice, half a cup of water (flavoured) and syrup (£1.50 at Tesco).
“This is the outcome. They loved them and can make as many as we like while saving money on buying them.”
The mum showed how she adds all of the ingredients to her blender, and out comes a replica Slush Puppie drink that looks delicious.
She added: “Put about 8-10 cubes of ice, 3-4 shots of syrup (more if you like it sweet) half a cup of water (flavoured) or whatever you prefer.
“Keep blending till it’s smooth.”
Many people praised her hack and it has racked up nearly 3,000 likes.
One impressed person wrote: “These look lush!”
Another added: “This’ll save us a fortune!”
Some adults said they were keen to add gin or vodka to their drinks to take them to the next level.
Meanwhile, B&M is selling Slush Puppies for 89p and shoppers are saying they are perfect for cocktails.
And these are the dangerous heatwave hacks parents must know – from not covering prams to avoiding spraying a hosepipe on your child.
